VLX is file format used for compiled AutoLISP file. AutoLISP is extension of LISP programming language which is built specifically to be used with registered AutoCAD software application.

LISP stands for List Processing Language and this is embedded with AutoCAD designing and modeling software to provide more control over the work. When the AutoLISP code is compiled it is saved in VLX file format. VLX file can have more than one routine in it. Once compiled, VLX is a standalone file which contains all the data required for execution. VLX program runs faster as compared to other format based programs.
