What is a .264 file?
Everything worth knowing about Raw H.264 / AVC Video Elementary Stream (DVR/CCTV export).
A .264 file is a raw H.264 (AVC) video stream, most commonly exported by a CCTV camera, DVR, or NVR. It contains video only - no audio, no container, no timing data - which is why most players refuse it or show no duration. VLC can usually play it directly. To make it work everywhere, remux it to MP4 with ffmpeg in seconds: `ffmpeg -i in.264 -c copy out.mp4`.

Can I keep all audio tracks and subtitles?
The MKV (no re-encode) option copies every track as-is. MP4 and WEBM keep the first video and audio track, which is what most players use.
Why can't some files be converted?
Files protected with DRM (for example purchased iTunes .m4p songs or some .wmv rentals) are encrypted. We can show what's inside, but nobody can convert them without the key.
