What is a .ABC file?
The most common data format on the web.
An ABC file is a tune written in ABC music notation, a plain-text shorthand for melodies used mainly to share folk and traditional music. Open it in any text editor to read the raw notes, or use EasyABC or MuseScore to see it as sheet music and hear it. The format is safe: it is plain ASCII with no executable code.
