What is a .BNP file?
The most common data format on the web.
A BNP file is a small management/index file created by Sony AVCHD camcorders. It records clip dates, clip order, and browse data for the camera - it is not a video and cannot be played or converted. Your actual footage is in the .MTS or .M2TS files inside the AVCHD STREAM folder; open those in VLC.
