What is a .MOI file?
The most common data format on the web.
A MOI file is a small index file created alongside camcorder video clips (the .MOD or .TOD file of the same name) by JVC Everio and Panasonic SD/HDD camcorders. It holds the recording date, duration, bitrate, and audio codec. It has no video or audio. To watch the footage, open the matching .MOD file in VLC. The .MOI itself has nothing to play.
