What is a .SMD file?
The most common data format on the web.
An SMD file is most commonly a Valve Studiomdl Data file, a plain ASCII text file that defines a 3D model or animation for Source Engine games such as Half-Life, Counter-Strike, and Team Fortress 2. Open it in Blender with the Blender Source Tools addon, or in any text editor to inspect it. SMD is also used for Sega Genesis ROM images from the Super Magic Drive device; open those in RetroArch or Kega Fusion.
