What is a .XBRL file?
The most common data format on the web.
An XBRL file is a financial or business report in eXtensible Business Reporting Language, an XML standard regulators worldwide use for machine-readable company filings. To read it as a proper report, use the free Arelle viewer or a regulator's online viewer such as SEC EDGAR. Any text editor opens the raw XML, but you will see tags rather than formatted statements.
